Privacy notice
Last updated 23 October 2026
This notice explains, in plain English, how Zen uses your personal information when you use this website, send a booking request or message us. We keep it simple and only use your details to help you book.
Who we are
The data controller is Paul McCormick, trading as Zen (Paul Zen), Zen, Raceview Mill, Broughshane, Ballymena.

What we collect
- Booking form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the service you choose, your preferred date and time, and any message you write.
- WhatsApp, phone, email or Facebook: if you contact us this way, we receive your name, number or address and whatever you choose to send us.
Why we use it
We use your details only to reply to you and to arrange and manage your booking.
Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is that the processing is needed to take steps you have asked for before a booking (a contract), and our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and running the business.
How your details are sent
- The booking form is delivered to us by email through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a third-party form service. It passes your form to our email inbox.
- WhatsApp is run by Meta. Messages you send there are also covered by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
- Facebook is run by Meta. If you visit or message our Facebook page, Meta's own privacy policy applies.
- The "Ask Zen" chat on this site runs only in your browser. It doesn't store or send anything you type.
Marketing
We won't send you marketing unless you have said yes. We never sell your details.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only as long as we need them for your booking and our records, normally up to 2 years, unless we need to keep them longer for our accounts.
Website hosting and cookies
This website is hosted by Vercel, which may log basic technical data (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to run and protect the site.
This site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies, and it doesn't store anything on your device. We use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free visitor counter that doesn't collect personal data.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Just email or call us using the details above.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
